Powered by a raging mechanic

The Excalibur Spider Huracán Sterrato MB timepiece is powered by the RD630 caliber. This horological “engine” is specially designed to mimic the hexagonal air intakes of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse racing cars, while the symmetry of the double barrel is a nod to the multi-fuel tanks of the same manufacturer’s Huracán supercar. True to their non-conformist roadmap, the House’s watchmakers chose a balanced wheel with an angle of 12°, for ultimate performance. Placed at 12 o’clock like the Sterrato dashboard, while very inclined, it offers better visibility to its owner who can now admire the oscillations of the hairspring, the beating heart of the watch. To complete this impressive mechanism, the date is indicated at 6:00.

Semi-skeletonized and visible through a transparent caseback, the movement features a 360° oscillating weight that mimics the lines and speed effect of a Huracán rim. Guaranteed 60 hours of power reserve, the self-winding single-balance caliber is a masterpiece of mechanical engineering.

Hyper-tech materials

The technical mastery of the Maison is also reflected in the timepiece’s modern and hyper-tech materials specially selected for their extreme lightness and resistance, starting with the SMC carbon of the 45 mm case. Nine times lighter than gold, this composite material is directly inspired by the Lamborghini Huracán’s monocoque chassis and bodywork.

Also, the six main minute indicators have been enlarged so that the bezel more closely evokes the unique shape of the Sterrato bumpers. Crafted in black DLC titanium, these elements are thickened to reflect the supercar’s raised ground clearance, reminding owners who seek adrenaline of the thrills of a car built for action.

Driving in style

All in electric orange and bold red, the timepiece is distinguished by its ultra-racy aesthetic. The two sharp diagonals that cross the dial – from 12 to 7 o’clock and from 12 to 5 o’clock respectively – are the clean lines of the Sterrato’s roof rails. One of the distinctive features of the Excalibur Spider Huracán is its crown: inspired by supercar nuts, it brings motor racing style to the wrist.

The wristband is equipped with a QRS quick-release system to allow the wearer ultra-fast changes worthy of a pit stop, while the gorgeous camouflage pattern is a nod to the super sports’ all-terrain capabilities car. To achieve this emblematic motif, several colored plates have to be vulcanized simultaneously using a specific process that takes 30% longer than a classic bracelet. Finally, the inside of the black rubber strap is decorated with the unique pattern of Pirelli Super Trofeo R tires.
