Colmar, December 14, 2022 – Graines Voltz publishes its turnover for the 2021/2022 financial year.

2021/2022 TURNOVER: €132.2M

Graines Voltz’s turnover for the 2021/2022 financial year reached €132.2 million, an increase of 8.1% compared to the previous financial year[1].

Growth of +10.9% in strategic scope

Excluding non-strategic subsidiaries around the Mediterranean (Morocco, Algeria and Turkey), turnover for the year reached €126.1 million, up 10.9% compared to the previous year. Turnover increased by 9.1% in France and by 14.4% in other European countries.
On a like-for-like basis, the business grew 1.09% within the strategic range.

In terms of products in the same range, young plants recorded an increase of 21.3%, while seeds decreased by 4.3% compared to last year. Seed demand is more sensitive to the heat wave and the arbitrage effects following the war in Ukraine.
The mixed seed/seedling development strategy has enabled the group to diversify its markets by strengthening its resilience.

At this stage, it is difficult to set an activity objective for the current financial year due to the instability that remains in the markets due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its economic consequences. However, the group noted that the initial sales numbers were for 1eh quarter is well engaged. However, this indicator should be evaluated with caution because the sales of 1eh quarter represents on average less than 10% of turnover for the financial year. However, and assuming that the economic and geopolitical situation does not deteriorate further, the group still considers as possible the growth hypothesis, in the current range, of 5 to 10% in 2022/2023.

Commenting on this news, Serge Voltz, Chairman and CEO said “The group’s activity has generally held up well in the unusually hostile context we had to face in our second half. Over the course of the financial year, turnover increased on a global basis and on a like-for-like basis Our development in young plants has played an important role in this evolution and strengthened our stability, especially the acquisition of André Briant Jeunes Plants (ABJP) at the beginning of 2022, whose prospects are very encouraging”.
