LAS VEGAS, January 06, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MGA – Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global IoT solutions provider, today demonstrates the capabilities of its smart module with compute-intensive intelligence applications at the end. Using Quectel’s SG865W-WF high-performance smart module, the demo shows how to enable future use cases for industrial applications, digital signage, unattended retail, fleet management and healthcare using peripheral intelligence and automatic vision functionality.

SG865W-WF is Quectel’s new generation Android smart module with built-in high-performance eight-core Kryo 585 CPU, Adreno 650 GPU, Adreno 995 DPU, Adreno 665 VPU, Hexagon DSP and Spectra 480 ISP. The module supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and 2×2 Wi-Fi MIMO technology. A large range of interfaces such as LCM, camera, touch panel, I2S, PCIe, UART, USB, I2C, SPI, etc. enable the module to deliver a wide range of IoT applications, including an innovative visual inspection system currently deployed on Quectel’s automated module production line.
Using Qualcomm QCS8250 system-on-chip, SG865W-WF smart module and Quectel industrial equipment including camera, lens and light, the machine vision solution uses edge computing to provide real-time analysis required to identify defective samples (scratches, dirt and abnormal surface printing) in each module, all defective modules are checked during production. By deploying this solution, Quectel achieved industry-leading accuracy and high speed defect detection, greatly increasing production efficiency and product quality.
