Ideas for a successful night out this week in and around Béziers. With two festivals as a high point: Chants d’hiver at La Cigalière in Sérignan and Les Hivernales du rire et du vin in the Avant-Monts area.
The winters of laughter and wine of the Avant-Monts. Representatives of contemporary humor led by Nicole Ferroni (Lisa Derrio, Marie Reno and Marie Baousson) opened the Avant-Monts festival, the Hivernales du rire et du vin. Rom Castéra in concert at the MJC-CS Trencavel in Béziers. After a masterclass with current music students at the Béziers Méditerranée Conservatory, Montpellier artist Rom Castéra is invited to a concert. He presents his universe combining current rhythms and catchy melodies. She sings with a deep voice alert lyrics over brilliant chords that create a dancing folk pop, written in the present and heralding the blues of tomorrow.

Open “Pandora’s Box” at the Cirque des mirages in Pézenas. The mythical duo of Cirque des mirages is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Alternately a disturbing storyteller and a mesmerizing singer, Yanowski unfolds with striking gestures. At the piano, Parker emits a unique rhythm with the precision of a metronome. Hallucinated writers, murderous poets, travelers without luggage, from songs to stories, discover a procession of strange characters. A great moment for a show of corrosive and irreverent humor.

Mélissa Laveaux for Chants d’hiver at La Cigalière in Sérignan. Divided between different cultures, full of many musical influences, Mélissa Laveaux shows an artistic identity in her image: plural and open to the world. In Mama Forgot Her Name Was Miracle, Mélissa Laveaux takes the lullaby wild again by calling upon powerful voices from different eras, from Audre Lorde to the goddess Lilith, to create a new mythology. Alternative. Feminists. Modern. Subversive. Because the change of legends is the change of the present.
As part of the Chants d’hiver festival from January 26 to 28, at La Cigalière. With Marie Sigal and Laura Cahen on the 26th; Ndobo-Emma and Mélissa Lavaux on the 27th and Justine Blue Trio and La Yegros on the 28th. “The Guardians of the Planet” at MonCiné Béziers. The Biterroise association Project Rescue Ocean is a partner of the film by Jean-Albert Lièvre, The Guardians of the Planet which will be seen in cinemas on February 22. In this context, MonCiné at the Polygone de Béziers offers a preview screening and in the presence of part of the film crew, including its director. The Story: A humpback whale washed up on a distant shore. As a group of men and women organize their rescue, we discover the extraordinary story of cetaceans, citizens of the world’s oceans, who have been important to the ecosystem of our planet for more than 50 million years.
