At the beginning of 2022, the well-known journalist Oscar Lemaire showed that the Nintendo console has surpassed the infamous Wii U, but not yet the Nintendo DS that proudly sits at the top. Por The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, we count at least 24.89 million copies sold by mid-2021, and tell yourself that the game continues to sell to new Nintendo Switch owners. Many players also started the adventure when Tears of the Kingdom was announced, to catch up on their “backlog”.

If you have a good memory, you will surely remember that Breath of the Wild is also available on Wii U, but sales of the game on this platform represent a very small proportion of owners of the title (1.69 million in Wii U. ). In another register, we can find Zelda Windwaker released on the Gamecube and the sequel Zelda Phantom Hourglass, which saw the light of day on the Nintendo DS. For once, we found a pattern similar to Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask as Tears of the Kingdom landed on the same platform as its predecessor. This will be the return of the new Zelda formula, which many players seem to enjoy.
